John Maclean by Nan Milton
Excellent book. I had read Henry Bell's book and loved that too. I learned a great deal about John Maclean from both of them. Nan's book give me insights into the political parties involved and the various leading figures involved in the fight for socialism. Also the divisions and political sectarianism , etc. I hadn't fully appreciated how the struggle for freedom from colonialism in Ireland had influenced him, and his support for an Independent Scotland.

Inspirational.
I had this book years ago but loaned it out and never got it back. It went to a good home though ! So pleased it's now reprinted - political message that's seriously needed these days.
