The Auchengeich story is in the DNA of all Miners who travelled underground, knowing that every day spent underground could have been their last.
Health and Safety was non-existent; miners' deaths happened in every mining pit across the UK as if it was normal practice.
Every family of the working-class had a relative who was a miner. It was how communities were built; you lived together, you worked together, and you stood together. When you have unity you have the force for change, which the miners certainly did.
